I am an Assistant Professor at the University of South Alabama. My research focuses on Instructional Sciences, and I am currently interested in student cognitive engagement in online learning environments and student motivation. I earned my Ph.D. from the Learning, Design, and Technology program at the University of Georgia. After the graduation, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Arizona State University for about two years focusing on designing and investigating learning approaches that can promote deep learning. After the postdoctoral training, I decided to go on to practice my skills as an Instructional Designer and an adjunct professor at Eastern Illinois University. When I am not working, I can be found drawing, traveling, or simply hanging out with my dog.
